Stand Against Hate and Bias
We all deserve the right to live, work, and thrive no matter our color, immigration status or sexual orientation and gender identity.
We celebrate the recent Supreme Court victory that affirms the basic belief that civil rights belong to us all –including LGBTQ educators who are now free to participate in school life without fear. Educators are in a unique role to encourage and support students no matter their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
However, the impact of the pandemic, the continued violence against transgender women of color, and the divisive and dangerous policies advanced against LGBTQ people by this Administration, means our work is far from over. We strongly oppose any policy or regulation that violates the privacy, health and civil rights of those who identify as LGBTQ.
Together, we commit to take action to address racism and discrimination to achieve full equality, racial justice and gender justice. Together, we celebrate Pride in our LGBTQ communities and the strength and resilience that carries us forward to a stronger, more inclusive future.
