Educators are sounding the alarm that students have become actual targets and collateral damage in the Trump administration’s assault on immigrants.
“I lived in a time when there were no scholarships for women who played any sport…if you were a woman and a jock, you were just out of place.
More than 75 higher education institutions held immigration reform events and rallies on campuses in 35 states and the District of Columbia.
Update (12/18/10): The DREAM Act failed to reach the required 60 votes to move on to final passage by a vote of 55 for, 41 against.
This week, fears could be eased if the Senate votes in favor of the DREAM Act, a piece of legislation which would allow young immigrants who are students to apply for U.S. residency after going through a comprehensive six year process.
