Elementary GSA Advisor Panel & Discussion: 

It’s never too early to begin exploring the diversity of families, identity, belonging, safety, and respect. Learn steps to creating GSAs in your elementary school from educators leading the work of inclusive elementary classrooms.

How to Host A Virtual Meeting: 

As we’ve moved towards spatial distancing, it has been important to stay socially connected. For some LGBTQ+ students, school is the safest and most affirming space. This workshop will help educators create and navigate online gatherings for GSAs that include celebrating GLSEN Days of Action.

Middle School Panel & Discussion: Success and Challenges of a Middle School GSA 

Join us for a conversation with GLSEN’s GSA of the Year: Ilima Intermediate School’s Rainbow Royales GSA as they share the success & challenges of a middle school GSA.
(Open to all grade levels, with special attention to middle school GSA experiences)

Host a Virtual Meeting + Kick Starting Your GSA

Come learn about GLSEN’s resources on how to kick start a GSA. Learn organizing strategies for outreach and sustainability, as well as things to keep in mind as advisors prepare for the upcoming year and starting a new GSA. Also, learn how GSAs can be a tool for building solidarity across student identities and building a campus community of resources and support. (Open to all grade levels especially those wanting to start a GSA at their school).

High School Panel and Discussion:

LGBTQ and Black Lives Matter/Organizing Virtual Events (Day of Action): 

As students head back to school, the context of safety and support has shifted this workshop. We invite advisors and other educators into a conversation addressing two pandemics facing school communities. Using a youth-centered lens this workshop addresses tools for activism and community care within the context of COVID-19 and racial equity in schools.
