Welcome to our national competition for the most inspiring NEA member story about a DREAMer student.
DREAMer students were brought here by their parents. They study in our classrooms. They play by the rules and pledge allegiance to our flag. America is the only home they’ve ever known. They are Americans in every sense of the word.
Yet millions of DREAMer students live in constant fear of a broken immigration system that threatens to arrest and deport them, their parents, and their brothers and sisters.
As educators and NEA members, we know and admire many DREAMer students who have dreams, determination and goals. Help tell their story their story so our nation can make immigration reform a reality and our students can stop living in the shadows.
So tell us: Why do your students need immigration reform?
Tell us your story. Encourage your colleagues to do the same.
The selected NEA member will be invited to the nation’s capital to participate in the historic All In for Citizenship March on April 10 in Washington, D.C.
Don’t delay. The deadline is 11:59 p.m. EST, Thursday, March 28.
